Thriving on Our Terms: Black Girls Gather Announces Its First Conference
Save the Date | March 5–6, 2027 | Halifax, Nova Scotia
Black Girls Gather (BGG) is excited to announce Thriving on Our Terms, our inaugural conference bringing together Black women from across Atlantic Canada for two days of connection, empowerment, professional development, collective care, and joy.
Taking place on March 5–6, 2027, at The Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax, Nova Scotia, this milestone event will create an intentional space for Black women to connect, learn, celebrate their experiences, and explore what it means to thrive on their own terms.
A Space Created for Us, by Us
Over the past several years, Black Girls Gather has been connecting with Black women across Atlantic Canada, creating opportunities to share experiences, build relationships, exchange knowledge, and strengthen community.
Through these connections, one message has become increasingly clear: Black women deserve spaces where their voices are heard, their ambitions are supported, their well-being is prioritized, and their successes are defined on their own terms.
Thriving on Our Terms brings these conversations, experiences, and aspirations together under one roof.
Redefining What It Means to Thrive
What does it truly mean for Black women to thrive?
Is it building a fulfilling career? Creating financial security and generational wealth? Prioritizing mental health, well-being, and rest? Finding community, embracing joy, or pursuing a dream that once felt out of reach?
We believe thriving can mean all these things and more.
This two-day conference will provide opportunities for participants to explore their personal and professional aspirations through meaningful conversations, practical learning, shared experiences, and community building.
From career mapping and financial planning to personal growth, wellness, and the importance of rest, the conference will encourage Black women to imagine and actively plan for futures that reflect their own values, priorities, and dreams.
Above all, Thriving on Our Terms is a reminder that we do not have to navigate our journeys alone. When Black women come together to share knowledge, celebrate one another, and build supportive networks, we create possibilities for individual and collective success.
